China arrival card: fill it in online before you land
Since 20 November 2025, foreigners can fill in the arrival card online before travelling to China. It is free of charge.
Where to fill it in
- National Immigration Administration website: s.nia.gov.cn/ArrivalCardFillingPC
- The “NIA 12367” app (移民局12367)
- WeChat or Alipay mini program
- On arrival: scan the QR code at the port, use a self-service terminal, or fill in a paper card
The official service is free. You do not need to pay any website or agent to fill in the arrival card.
Who does not need to fill it in
- Holders of a Chinese Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card
- Non-Chinese holders of a Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao residents
- Group visa holders and travellers in visa-free groups
- Travellers in direct transit within 24 hours who stay in the restricted area
- Cruise passengers entering and leaving on the same ship
- Travellers using the fast-track (automated) lanes
- Foreign crew of cross-border vehicles
